Playset Installation & Assembly

Once you decide to put a Playset on your property, it can get overwhelming when you try to decide which model to go with. In order to make the best decision, you’ll want to consider your children’s needs and desires, their sizes and ages, the amount you are willing to spend, and the size you are interested in.

Many play sets are interchangeable so that you can have more safety features and smaller sized equipment for toddlers and then change out parts as they get older. These types of sets have the ability to grow with your children. They might cost a little more, but certainly are a better investment long-term when you consider what it would cost to exchange a set built for a small child with one designed for older children.

Most sets are customizable to the needs and desires of the consumer. You may be able to choose between varieties of swings, slides, climbing walls and other features. You will also need to decide whether you want the Playset covered with a roof or open. It can get overwhelming trying to decide what’s important and what’s not, so ask your kids what they want. If they’d rather have two slides and no swings, it’s pretty easy to customize a Playset in this manner. Do your homework so you know whether you’re getting a non-customizable, partially customizable or fully customizable play set.

Be watchful of costs. Play sets costs can soar over $5000, but that isn’t where most parents want to invest their money. It is possible to find well-constructed play sets at reasonable prices allowing for safety first but also being mindful of your checkbook. Basic model play sets are around $1200 - $1500, depending on the level of customization desired, and are available at major retailers.

Size is an essential element for your consideration, especially if you have limited space. You don’t want to get to the final step of construction only to discover that there isn’t enough room left for the slide, and even if you have unlimited room, you’ll want to consider size for other reasons. How long do you want the Playset to serve your children? The longer you want them to use it, the sturdier it needs to be. Older children need larger swings and wider slides, so you will want to consider how many children it will be serving as well as age and size.
